Wes Fogden is proud to have passed the 250 appearance mark for a “great club” after reaching the feat in yesterday’s 3-1 win over Tonbridge Angels.

Fogden, who’s been at the Hawks for two spells, is a legend around Westleigh Park and is a player adorned by supporters and respected by his fellow peers in the game.

This season he is the joint second highest assist maker so far in The National League South with three assists.

Talking about reaching the feat, he said: “To get to 250 apperances for a great club like this is a nice feeling.

“My first spell gave me the chance to kick on into the league and when I left the league it was perfect to come back and I’ve enjoyed my time here ever since.”

Fogden holds many great memories during his time at Westleigh Park, and there are two in recent memory which stand out as much as any other.

“My goal against Bognor which was the second to last game from winning the Ryman League and then Jason Prior’s finish to win us the league from the South two years ago.”

This season Fogden believes the optimism, energy and bounce around Westleigh Park is justified with a good squad assembled twinned with a good start to the season.

He said: “We’ve built a great squad. Credit to the gaffer for that, he’s got some great players here. and everyone’s gelled really nicely.

“We’ve got to keep our heads on it. First half yesterday I felt we wasn’t good enough for what we can do but second half was much more improved and hopefully we can carry that on and continue to improve.”
